A big thanks to Tipster who provided this link to the Keynes Game - a game of political economy from Dreamscape.  It's very easy.  You have the variables to play around with – tax, spend and money supply.  Okay, so we don't have the option of manipulating Irish money supply; still, if you're a fan of quantitative easing, let rip.  Go to File and and press start game.  See if you can lower unemployment while keeping inflation and interest rates in check.  If successful, you get to be re-elected President. 

I played around with a number of variables.  I managed to get re-elected and, in my wilder moments late at night, subjected the country to runaway inflation.
