Notes on the Front

In a welcome initiative, TASC – Ireland's leading think tank – has launched a new economics blog: Progressive-Economy.   It features a strong line-up ready to challenge the conservative consensus that is, so far, dominating the national debate:  ICTU's chief economist Paul Sweeney, Professor Gerard Hughes, Professor Terrence McDonough, Dr. Jim Stewart, Peter Connell, Professor Peadar Kirby, and Professor David Jacobson. 

This will no doubt be one more vehicle for Left ideas on the economy. So if you're tired of the litany of the cuts-brigade which dominate our media (and Tipster just tipped me off that Cathal O'Loghlin is at it again – this time in the Irish Times), drop in on this site and contribute to the debate.
